Klapp, Steffen Kehrle

This folding chair designed by Steffen Kehrle and manufactured without any welding, with top quality finishes, is a fusion of technology, lightness and linearity. The seat and backrest are made of ash plywood. The two injection moulded techno-polymer assembly joints allow the backrest to be inserted directly into the back legs, so it takes up minimal space when folded. The joints on the aluminium tube frame do not present the typical irregularities of normal welding.

Steffen Kehrle was born 1976 in Bavaria near Ulm. He studied industrial design at University of applied Arts in Vienna under Paolo Piva, Borek Šípek, Ross Lovegrove and Hartmut Esslinger.
